In early 2016 Trees for Cities worked in partnership with Ealing Council to plant a new community apple orchard at Wood End Wireless recreation ground. We planted apple trees with the community on Saturday 12th March 2016 - check the events page for photos!

In 2014 over 400 homes near Wood End Wireless recreation ground took part in a community consultation to see what people would like to see from the space. The most popular option was nature conservation, with 61% of people asking to see more wildlife in the area. A third of people also wanted an edible landscape. The apple orchard will attract wildlife and provide new habitats as well as producing fruit for cooking, eating and making cider.
